Seafood related band names

Maybe it’s just me but I noticed a lot of ‘jam’ bands have seafood related names:

Tortoise, Leftover Salmon, Fishbone, Oysterhead,Phish, Ozric Tentacles, Hot Tuna

Aquarium Rescue Unit, Nada Surf, Eels, Oceansize

With that in mind, I would like to propose a new band name for us:

Saltwater

Well, ok, um … er … ahhhhh … The Improv Project (tip) is 4 friends who like listening to what each other does with their respective instruments. Actually, I would venture that we LOVE to listen to each other since we have consistently gotten together on Thursday evenings for jams for well over a year now.

Our Thursday meetings have produced some kick ass recordings as well as some NOT so kick ass recordings. The stream EricR has put into place on our web site is wonderful and everyone should listen to it. I have turned on numerous techies at my job and they have enjoyed it. Relaxing is the most used word.

For me personally, and the other 3 have mentioned it often as well, our Thursdays are a true release for the built up stress, depression, anxiety … you name the shit that gets in our systems during the act of living … it is all released when we play. Orgasmic. I would definitely use that word.

To my friends that make up tip … thanks for what we’ve done and for what we are gonna’ do!
